Joadja is our home first and foremost. We just happen to have a national heritage site in our backyard! We feel it would be a crime to lock Joadja up for another 100 years and let it crumble under our feet. So we have partnered with others to carry on with the conservation and some restoration of structures and items on site to ensure generations in the future can witness the struggles and triumphs of the thousands of Scottish miners brought out to help exploit the rich kerosene shale locked in Joadja Creek. We want you to come and visit this magic property. But we need your help. Unfortunately, tours of Joadja are simply not financially viable, so we can't open to the general public every day. We have listed a few days (below) per year where you can come and visit this magical and mysterious valley. We strongly recommend that you phone us on the morning of the listed open day to ensure access is safe (from bushfires and floods). Private and Group Bookings can also be made but minimum numbers and conditions apply.

Location
We are 90 minutes from Sydney, 2 hours from Canberra and 25 minutes from Mittagong.
From Sydney:
• Take the M5 Mortorway heading south. Turn left at the Bowral/Mitagong exit.
• At Mittagong, follow the signs towards Wombeyan Caves.
• Turn right at Wombeyan Caves turn off, and follow it through until you reach the signs to Joadja Road.
• Follow Joadja Road for about 11 kms to the very end. Turn right over the cattle grid onto a dirt road.
• Follow the dirt and tar road for about 6 kms to the end where you will find the entrance to Joadja Town.
From Canberra:
• Take the Mittagong exit from the Freeway and turn left onto the Old Hume Highway.
• Turn right onto Wombeyan Caves Road.
• Follow Wombeyan Caves Road for about 5kms to the first intersection and turn left onto Handleys Lane. Follow the lane to the end and turn right onto Joadja Road.
• Follow Joadja Road for about 11 kms to the very end. Turn right over the cattle grid onto a dirt road.
• Follow the dirt and tar road for about 6 kms to the end where you will find the entrance to Joadja Town.
